Derek Kopke

Derek Kopke, hailing from Canada, is the Executive Vice President, International Business Development of DataWind Ltd., responsible for its international distribution expansion and developing new operator relationships, focusing on developing markets.  He has over 20 years of experience as a sales manager and business development executive.  He has been with DataWind for the past 12 years in a variety of sales and business development roles and through his background in education is very passionate about the need for improving access to educational content globally.


Prior to working for DataWind, Derek founded and ran Triple Decker Enterprises, a manufacturer’s sale rep firm and worked for Guillemot, a French gaming company where he worked in sales of gaming accessories and video games. Derek also worked for several years in consumer electronics retail for Canada’s largest CE retailer in store operations and has taught in several schools in Canada. Derek holds a B.Ed in Physical Education and history from McGill University and an MBA in International Business from Clemson University.
